FAQ
What Is Precast Concrete?
Precast concrete is concrete produced under strict quality monitored condition in controlled environment. This means that a consistent product is produced, which meets or exceeds all quality guidelines.
What Colour Differences Can I Expect?
Concrete is made up of raw materials including fine and course aggregates, cement, and water, whose normal colour varies. Concrete must also go though a curing phase, which is dictated by environmental constraints (humidity, temperature, air flow etc). These phenomena together can cause slight variations in colour of the finished product. While these variations do not reflect the quality of the concrete they should be accounted for in the design stage. You can ask for a range of colour samples that may be expected.
How Do You Conceal Slight Variations In Colour?
While slight variations exist in the aggregates, they will not be as noticeable as the variations in the colour of the as-cast concrete. This means the heavier the textured finish, or the more stone that is exposed, the more consistent the colour will appear. In order to give some depth to the panel, it is also very effective to have differential sandblasting patterns, with heavy sandblasted borders and light sandblasted centers.
Why Are Precast Bleachers Superior To Other Choices?
Precast by nature is constant, dimensionally accurate product that reflects the quality of the form in which it was cast. Our bleachers are cast upside down to ensure the visible surface is smooth.
We offer a fully engineered riser and tread system capable of spanning 10 meters or more. The System stacks on top of the other on the front face and rest on a racker beam on the back. Aisle steps are then set in place, the joints are caulked, and the system is ready for seating. The finished product can be painted, however, it is most commonly left natural. The area under the bleachers can be used for dressings rooms or storage. Precast Bleachers are fire resistant and offer a much higher quality of finish than cast-in-place concrete. Please contact us to discuss the best support system, rise and run, and schedule for your next project.
What Is A Sandwich Panel?
A sandwich panel is a concrete panel with a layer of insulation between two layers of precast concrete. Sandwich panels can have a variety of insulation “R” values depending on the insulation type specified and the thickness of panel required. The two layers of concrete offer unsurpassed durability, resistance to flame spread, and superior acoustical qualities. There are a variety of architectural finishes available, please view our recent projects to see some examples.
